08/10 Quadruple Completed - WFAI All
Ireland Dublin Regional Winners!
The long postponed Dublin Final was finally played today. This
final was postponed to allow for the Leinster Finals and then
the All-Ireland Finals. So our All-Ireland winners took to the
pitch today to play bogey team Templeogue (see above results)
and came off that same pitch 5:1 winners. Just for the record.....the
quad reads......
DWSL U12A 2005 League Winners
WFAI U12 2005 Dublin Region Winners
WFAI U12 2005 Leinster Region Winners
WFAI U12 2005 All Ireland Winners
02/10/05
- ALL IRELAND CHAMPIONS
Last season Malahide Uniteds Firsts Senior team kicked off their
first season at the top of the LSL in August 2004. Nearly one
year later in June 2005 they finished their FAI cup run second
round replay against Sligo Rovers in Gannon Park - it was
an incredible journey! This journey also saw them reach TWO other
cup finals and finish well up in the top LSL Divsion. The club
took a breather and said "how can we top this?" - well
move over boys, here are our DWSL/WFAI U12 Girls.

These girls started their season in May 2005 after
jointly winning the NDSL U 11B division and winning the NDSL U11
Shield. They went on to win their DWSL U12A division and qualified
for the WFAI Dublin Finals. This qualification entitled them to
a spot in the Leinster Finals. Having won the Leinster Finals
it was off to Athlone for the WFAI All Ireland Cup.
They won their group stages with 3 out 3 victories.
First up was Lakewood (Cork) 2:1, then Raphoe (Donegal) 3:0 and
finally Manulla (Mayo) 2:1. After a very close and hard semi final
against Dunmore (Waterford), which they won 2:1, they then had
to face Lifford from Co. Clare in the final.
The WFAI All Ireland Final was their 5th match of
the day and it was a hard match! It was Niamh Lawlor that made
the vital strike - by scoring the only goal of the match. The
DWSL U12's brings the first All Ireland Cup back to Malahide.
Nicole Owens brings back an additional award, she was voted the
Player of the Tournament.

Well done to the team management Tom Cassidy and
Ruth Guerin, finals reporter Gemma Cassidy, travelling family
and friends but above all, congratulations from the other 1,000
footballers in the club to the our incredibly talented squad of
All Ireland Champion footballers.
Theres more.......they still have to play in the
WFAI All Ireland Dublin Regional Final and are still playing together
as an all girls team in the NDSL U12E 2005/06.
Let Malahide United AFC take a breather and proclaim,
"now how can we top this?"
15/09/05 Under 12 Girls WFAI Cup Success
The Malahide Under 12 Girls team successfully booked their place
in the Dublin final of the WFAI U12 All Ireland Cup. After a nail-biting
semi-final against St Josephs Girls with a score of 0-0 at full
time, the Malahide team managed to score 3 goals in the 10 minutes
of extra time.
The 2 Dublin finalists will travel to Wexford on Sunday 25th
September to play against 6 other Leinster teams, and if successful,
will qualify to take part in the All-Ireland final in Athlone
in early October.
A match will take place at a later date between Malahide Utd
and Templeogue Utd to ascertain the Dublin champions.
Malahide United V Eureka Kells - Sunday 4th September 2005
Malahide Castle 3pm
The Girls Under 12 teams of Malahide United FC and Eureka Kells
Co Meath met in the first round of WFAI All Ireland Cup this weekend.
In a well contested first half both teams played some excellent
football. However, the deadlock was broken when, after some skilful
passing, the ball was crossed from the right by Malahide's Olivia
Sneyd and turned into the goal by the onrushing Katherine Marsh.
The Malahide girls then turned on the style with a 10 minute spell
of pressure which yielded another 2 goals, with Niamh Lawlor taking
the credit for both.
The Eureka Kells girls came out with fighting spirit early in
the second half, with the impressive Joanne Byrne leading the
way. Byrne skilfully created 2 attempts at goal, but both were
decisively dealt with by Malahide's keeper Emer Cassidy. Experience,
however, prevailed as this excellent Malahide team showed their
class and stamped their authority on the game with 2 goals from
the clever Ciara Gayle, quickly followed by another from Katherine
Marsh. With 5 minutes remaining, Malahide's Nicole Owens burst
from midfield to score an excellent individual final goal.
