10/06/06 RUSH 3 MALAHIDE UNITED 4

In a most entertaining game today Malahide kept up their winning ways in a most heart-stopping match that you are likely to see. Malahide got off to a brilliant start with two early goals from their super striker Jessie Corr. With an emergency stand in goalkeeper Shauna Barry who made some outstanding saves and excellent kick outs Niamh Harney and Louise Carrick defended superbly.

In the second half Rush pulled it back to two all but Malahide girls heads did not drop with Helen O'Dea, Sarah Purcell, Aine Hughes and Aoife Brady playing exceptionally well in midfield with some block tackles and brilliant passes. Brooke Thomas scored a super goal and soon afterwards a fourth goal was scored by Jessie to rap up a fantastic hatrick. Rush got a late consolation goal but the girls held out and got a marvellous nail biting victory.

Well done to all of the girls.

Team: 1 Shauna Barry, 2 Helen O'Dea, 3 Aoife Brady, 4 Aine Hughes, 5 Niamh Harney, 6 Sarah Purcell, 7 Brooke Thomas, 8 Louise Carrick, 10 Jessie Corr.

28/05/05 - Corr (or is it Za-CORRa Zamora!) does it again

Malahide got off to a convincing victory in a wind swept match in Knocklyon this morning. All girls played really well with Jessy Corr getting the five goals. Malahide goalkeeper Alison McRory made a few saves in first half and with a resolute defence of Shauna Barry and Niamh Harney snuffed out Knocklyons forwards.

Emer Treacy and Sarah Purcell played exceptionally in midfield with some outstanding passes and tackles. Knocklyons defence had no answer for Malahides forwards of Brooke Thomas and Jessy Corr who scored 4 goals in the first half. Aimee O'Donovan. Aoife Brady, Alannah Griffen,L ouise Carrick mad a huge impact on the game when they came on.

14/05/05 - Traditionally the Under 10 team have performed exceptionally well in past years.

2003 - Dublin Women's Soccer League runners-up

2004 - Northside Dublin Women's Soccer League winners

It has been of huge benefit for players to have started playing at this young age, as many of the current Under 12's, Under 13's and Under 14's have remained together with the same teams for the past number of years.
