LOCATIONS OF MALAHIDE UNITED PITCHES AND OTHER CLUBS (Using GOOGLE EARTH)

First if all, this is real 21st century leading edge stuff but IT WORKS!!! Follow the instructions below on how to get GOOGLE EARTH on to your PC. You will need to go to their site, download and install a bit of software and then click on the Icon on your desktop and your away!

Failing all of this high-tech web gizmo-ing, managers keep on doing what your always have been as that works brilliantly! This is just another little effort to try and address Paul Brennans question at a recent managers meeting. "Can we find out where all these other clubs play their games?"

Just wait till we all have those wireless 3G PDA's that produce maps in real time through GPS that will tell us live where we are going and how to get there! (I wonder will we be able to see the actual state of the pitch some day?

This list is far from complete but we will keep building!

Paul Furey and Chris Shackleton

p.s. By the way can anyone make out the team that the satellite photo caught training/playing on the all-weather?

Instructions

If you have Google Earth (which is free) installed, you can double-click on the Placemark files (.kmz files) that are linked to the Club Names below. The file will open GOOGLE EARTH and literally fly you to that location. If not, you will need to install Google Earth first (available at http://earth.google.com). Further instructions and system requirements can be found here at that website.

Google Earth streams the world over wired and wireless networks enabling users to virtually go anywhere on the planet and see places in photographic detail. This is not like any map you have ever seen. This is a 3D model of the real world, based on real satellite images combined with maps, guides to restaurants, hotels, entertainment, businesses and more. You can zoom from space to street level instantly and then pan or jump from place to place, city to city, even country to country.

If you click on the "Roads" button near the bottom of the GOOGLE EARTH page, a street maps appears over the the satellite photo.

Some of our Google place files also contain descriptions on where to park and how to access a venue.
