DIRECTIONS TO OTHER CLUBS - Tips and Suggestions

  1. Check our Links page here for other Clubs websites. You could possibly find what you are looking for there. Most of these sites display maps and directions to their venue(s).

  2. Get your opposing clubs secretaries name and phone numbers from either the DDSL or the NDSL websites.
(a). Note the secretaries name and contact number(s)

(b). Bring these details with you so you can contact him/her. You could quite easily be stuck in traffic or the weather may have turned bad.

  3. Make sure you have the correct venue for your match/age group - remember that we, like many other Clubs, play in more than one venue.

  4. If you want a map, or some more directions on top of what you already have and if you have the street name or location of the club, check the Dublin Transportation Office route planner here. Enter the "ORIGIN" (Malahide or somewhere else on route that you know how to get to) and then enter the "DESTINATION".

(a). This will give you very detailed directions along with maps that can be zoomed in/out and panned.

(b). If you keep zooming in you may actually get to see a picture of the pitch where you will be playing!

(c). This Route Planner does not work for clubs outside the county of Dublin - e.g. Cloughertown, Leixlip or even Mullingar!!

......Other online maps that can be used for travels further afield or alternative views (thanks Malahide.ie):

    ...................Google Maps centred on Malahide
    ...................Maporama centred on Malahide
    ...................Map Ireland
................... Google Earth - Zoom in/out Satellite Images with Map overlays and directions

(d). As with 2(b) print off a copy of the directions and/or the map and bring it with you.

  5. Make sure you go through these directions with each driver that is travelling in convoy.

  6. If you find a club with a website and it is not listed on our links page, please email us. It will be of assistance to some of the other 58 club team managers.

Always be careful on the road and don't overload anyones's vehicle!

WEATHER - 10 DAY FORECAST (read the warning below)

As this is a major topic of discussion in this country and plays havoc with our sporting life around October, November, December and January and so on...... CLICK HERE for a 10 day weather forecast for Dublin from www.weather.com.

This is really only a "Heads Up" on the weather. If, for example, in the very rare winter event (!) where it may be lashing on a Thursday and/or Friday CLICK HERE to see what the forecast for Saturday/Sunday is.

Warning: NEVER use this facility to make decisions or assumptions that your weekend pitch is unplayable. Stick with the official sources i.e P219 Aertel (button the home page), a2zsoccer.com, Gannon Park decision or notification from your opposing secretary/manager. You can never make the assumption that your match will be off and make sure the parents know that they can never make assumptions also!!
