| To all Managers,
Please note that SAQ (Speed, Agility, Quickness)
training for managers, coaches and players will start week beginning
10th October. The SAQ coaches spent 2 intensive days last May
as well as completing a practical and theory exam on the SAQ concept.
The SAQ coaches have been assigned teams and it is hoped that
by the end of the season nearly all managers will be shown the
SAQ process.
SAQ is one of many components in developing
the complete player. It is vital that the manager/coach observes
the SAQ coach and that after the four week coaching period he
is able to put on his own SAQ session.
Please note that the SAQ coach will be in touch
with the manager before he commences his 4 week coaching plan.
The four week SAQ plan is intended to show the various benefits
of SAQ which can then be built into a manager's overall season
programme.
The Qualified SAQ coaches include:
Colm Tighe
Paul Horan
Alan Devine
Joe McGuire
Cian Tobin
Paul Keogh
NB. SAQ training
is a gradual process. Start with basic's and only move on when
they are mastered. Be patient with your players, for some this
is completely new. The 4 week SAQ coaching plan is more aimed
at the managers/coaches rather than the players. It will show
an outline which can be developed into a long term SAQ program.
