  2007 - SUMMER CAMP - Futsal Festival

We Have about 12 palces left in the August Camp, which is open to everyone.

Futsal is now UEFA's official small sided game and has been introduced by some of Malahide United's schools teams during their 2006/07 training schedule. The ball itself is a bit heavier than a regular size 4 and this allows for better ball control which in turn leads to an increase in the footballer's confidence (and skills) when it comes to ball control and passing.

The popularity of the game itself is growing at a very fast rate. Click here for FIFA's official and here for UEFA's website!

This years Summer Camp is a Futsal Festival and while Futsal is not here to replace the game we know, it is (as mentioned above) a very important and fun way to improve footballing skills.

There are two Futsal Festival Camps, see the form for details and THERE ARE STILL LIMITED VACANCIES!!

Please Ring Seamus McGroarty on 087-6122888.

  2006 - SUMMER CAMPS (AGES 7- 14)

As you may be aware, we are once again running our Summer Camp which will take place on two separate weeks (10th – 14th July & 7th – 11th August). The Summer Camp has been a source of great fun and enjoyment in a safe environment and this is what we are promising again this summer. Click on the 2005 and 2004 links above to recall those previous years.

Each child will receive a Camp Kit; this will include a t-shirt, shorts, socks, ball and drinks container (the kit will be a different colour for each week). The children will partake in games and fun which will be age appropriate. They will be supervised by 8 coaches and 2 managers. The Camp is open for 7 – 14 year olds. It will begin each day at 9:45am and finish at 3pm with lunch break from 12 – 1pm.

Yours sincerely,
John Reilly

  2005 - GLASGOW CELTIC SUMMER CAMP (AGES 8 - 14) `\

The first summer camp with Celtic in the Community took place the week of 11/7. The first day saw temperatures of 30 degrees with a huge drop to about 28 on the second day. A lot of fluids were drunk and poored over each other along with many cooling down exercises also required over the first 2 or 3 days. The weather eventually cooled off as the week progressed - but the camp activities did not cool off. The coaches from Glasgow Celtic were fantastic and kept our footballers busy all week. Where did all that green hair gel come from on the last day?

Click here for pictures from the first and last days.

Our camp for 8/8 is full. Please call 086-0555151 for further enquiries.

We ran our own Summer Camp in 2004, thanks to Derek Murray, Alison Elebert and to many of our coaches, managers and older players who took time off work to make these events very succesful. It ran over two seperate weeks and we have some images here.
