11/3/07 - Rivervalley 5 Malahide 1
This was a very enjoyable match to watch, with a deficit of only
1 to Rivervalley at half time, the supporting parents wondered
whether or not the teams luck would change.
Brian Wilkinson played in goal the first half and made some acrobatic
saves to keep the score down to only 1 at the interval. He was
replaced by Conor Finnegan for the second period, Conor who was
man of the match last month against Rush played well and made
some brave stops.
The goal was scored by Eoin Mac Cormaic, the ball was floated
in from a free kick taken by Alex Sheridan which found Domhnall
Hyland. Domhnall spotting Eoin unmarked pulled off a very clever
chip over the keeper and Eoin who was challenged by two defenders
managed to head in from 5 yards. It was an excellent example of
teamwork.
Contenders for Man of the match were Geoff Natin and Brian Wilkinson,
Brian winning by a hairline.

5/2/07 - Malahide United 0 Swords Celtic
4
The weather nearly said no to this match as fog threatened, but
wishing it away we got our first match in 2007 off the mark.
To be fair we had a lot of procession and took our chances and
had some good shots on target. We were beaten by 4 excellent shots
which Packie Bonner would have had trouble saving.

In the last minute of the match we hinted at
reward when Alex Morton got a strong shot off, leaving the supporters
shivering at the probability of a goal but again we were denied
by the Swords keeper.

26/11 - Castlenock 5 Malahide 1
On the 26th November 2006, the boys somehow
lost control of a match which for long periods it looked like
they would win. With only 10mins remaining the score was at 1
- 1 and a probable victory lay in store when to our disbelief
it backfired as Castlenock came at us in strong waves and put
their chances away.
Some notable performances today from Richie, Domhnall, Geoff,
Emmet and Sean. The goal was scored by Conor Kibride after great
work down the wing by Alex Sheridan.
It is heartwarming to see again how the team is well supported
by the parents which always adds to the match atmosphere and child
discipline. Are we the best supported team in Malahide ?

24/9 - Malahide 4 Kinsealy 9
On a find bright morning in Malahide Castle we were to witness
a goal feast. Four goals scored in any competition is usually
enough to win but not on this occasion, the boys held their opposition
to two goals for most of the match but in their efforts to close
the gap they took the risk of leaving themselves defenseless at
the back and that was that.
The scorers to-day were Evan Reid, Eoin Mac Cormaic and 2 by Alex
Sheridan.
Hello to Kevin Sheridan who last month flew in from Turkey to
support the team.
Malahide United 3 - Swords Celtic (C)
2
Malahide had a good first day out with success
in an Eamon Ludden League preliminary cup match. This was one
of a group of matches they will have to play,as they are matched
in group F also against Swords Rovers, Grangewoodbine and Boyne
Rovers.

They have progressed well from their cup success
last year and adapted well to the new 11 aside format and 1 hour
duration matches.
The scorers today were Connor Finnegan,
Evan Reid and Ryan Hanratty.
