U9 Jimmy Higgins Shied QF Malahide United vs Kinsealy
It was a beautiful moring. It was a great day
for a match. The players stepped onto the field ready to begin
the match. Malahide United scored their first goal. From the center
line Darren whacked the ball into the goal.
Kinsealy then came charging right at Malahide
United and Kinsealy scored their first goal.
Then Kinsealy were about to score a second
goal but Peter kicked the ball away. Then eventually the game
went into extra time. Would Malahide United prevail over Kinsealy
or would they fail?
Everyone was shocked when it went into
penalties. Malahide United tried but in the end Kinsealy won.
And everybody played great.

24/2 MALAHIDE UTD -2 GRANGE WOODBINE -1
Coming off a 3-0 win against Rivervalley last
week, confidence in the Malahide camp was high. Both teams were
well matched, but it was the visitors who scored first after 12
minutes. Malahide’s answer was a stunning equalizer 2 minutes
later by Darren Woods.
With all to play for Grange Woodbine threw everything
at Malahide in the second half but the defensive trio of Aaron
Murphy, Emma Costello and Peter McEvoy were giving nothing away.
Shane Cronin and Luke McGahey were causing all
sorts of problems for the visitors with some skilful passing and
together with some great saves from Jack Natin in goal kept the
score even.
It took Chris McDonnell to come off the bench
and fire home a cracking goal 7 mins from the end to win the game
for Malahide.
Despite missing Mathew O’Connell (on international
duty) it was a stunning team performance with some great football
being played.
