The girls kicked off there NDSL league campaign with a great game against Castleknock in the castle on Sunday morning. The all girl team, most of whom are playing 11 a-side football for the first time won the toss and decided to play against the strong wind in the first half. The match was played at a really fast pace, with both teams fighting for every ball. The girls went ahead after 10 minutes with a great goal from outside the box by Aoife. Castleknock hit back with a fluky goal just before half time.

The second half was really exciting with both teams having lots of chances. Danielle took off some great saves but could not stop a great shot from Castleknock to put them 2-1 up. Then the girls attacked Castleknock for the last 15 minutes but unfortunely could not score. Overall it was a very fair game and the girls were unlucky not to get a draw!!
