29/4/06 Darndale FC 2 – 3 Malahide
Utd
Team:
John Furlong, Paul Sheridan, Eoin Keogh, Brannan Riley, Jack Glanville,
Ryan Jones, Liam Feeney, Stephen Cullen, Michael Sherlin and David
Fox.
Our third win in a row and what a great win
it was. We knew before the game that this would be a tough one,
we had played Darndale earlier in the season and that game finished
1-1. Straight from the kick-off we could see that both sides were
evenly matched. Some great tackling by our midfield followed by
a great passing move by Stephen Cullen and Michael Sherlin led
to our first goal scored superbly by Liam Feeney put us in the
driving seat. Darndale fought back very well and had us penned
in our half, Ryan Jones and Brannan Riley with help from our midfield
kept them at bay, suddenly our defence was breached and a super
shot from the Darndale Number 9 was brilliantly saved by John
Furlong. Malahide then got control of midfield and after a fantastic
ball winning tackle by Jack Glanville and excellent link up play
by Liam Feeney, Jack went on to score a brilliant goal from outside
the box.
Into the second quarter and David Fox took
over in defence along with Michael Sherlin, Eoin Keogh came in
to Midfield along with Paul Sheridan. Darndale were desperate
to get back into the game and put a lot of pressure on us, some
great defensive tackling by Eoin, Brannan and Paul kept us 2-0
up. In the third quarter Jack took over in goal Eoin went into
defence alongside John Furlong. Ryan, Michael and Brannan were
battling hard in midfield. Darndale were really going for it now
and a defensive mix up let them in for their first goal.
Malahide were now going to be really tested.
Again some dogged battles in midfield followed by some good play
by Darndale and they found the elusive equaliser.
The Game looked like it might finish as a 2-2
draw however Malahide were not content to settle for a draw. The
midfield battle continued and a great interception by Brannan
Riley opened up the Darndale defence, Brannan went on a mazey
run past three Darndale players and scored a fantastic goal to
put Malahide 3-2 in front.
In the last quarter Malahide had to really dig in to keep Darndale
at bay, all of our players worked really hard from our Forwards
to our Goalkeeper and held on for a deserved 3-2 win. We are now
2nd in our league a fantastic achievement by all of our 25 squad
members.
Well Done to all of the players and thank you
to all of our supporters.

22/4/06 Malahide Utd 11 – 2 Kilbarrack
Utd
Team:
John Furlong, David Maloney, Eoin Keogh, Paul Sheridan, Eoin Fisher,
Ryan Jones, Christopher Kerley, Conor O`Byrne, Tadhg Russell and
David Fox.
A Fantastic performance by our players today.
The weather (at last) was perfect for playing football. From the
first whistle Malahide set about their tasks with some great tackling
and passing movement. Kilbarrack were penned into their own half
as the Malahide midfield dominated. A great passing move led to
the opening goal scored by David Fox. More pressure from Malahide
led to a free kick just outside the 18 yard box, the captain for
today Conor O`Byrne took a sensational free kick which finished
up in the top right hand corner, a goal David Beckham would be
proud of. Kilbarrack tried very hard to come back into the game
but David Maloney and Ryan Jones in defence were dealing very
well with any threat and John Furlong in goal was determined not
to conceed a goal.

Into the second quarter and Tadhg Russell came
on for David Fox, Malahide were dominating the midfield with Eoin
Keogh the engine of the team backed up by Conor O`Byrne and Eoin
Fisher. In a superb 10 minutes Tadhg had scored four goals and
Conor had got his second and third of the game. In the third quarter
Paul Sheridan took over in goal and Christopher Kerley took over
defensive duties with John Furlong. Two more Goals for Conor and
then Kilbarrack won a penalty. The Penalty was well taken and
Paul guessed the right way and was unlucky not to save it. Ryan
Jones and David Maloney were now playing in midfield and continued
the Malahide domination in this area.
The final quarter and two super goals were
scored, an individual goal by the Kilbarrack number 7 and a great
passing movement between Paul Sheridan and Tadhg Russell set up
a great goal scored by David Fox. A great result and 10 very happy
players went home with a spring in their step.
Well Done to all of the players and thank you
to all of our supporters.

11/2/06 Malahide Utd 7 – 0 Dunshaughlin
Youths

Only our second match back since November and
what a really great performance it was. We started very strongly
with some really good passing movement which created our first
goalscoring chance a couple of minutes in, a great shot by Liam
Feeney with a fine save from the Dunshaughlin keeper, a sign of
things to come.
Dunshaughlin tried hard to keep us at bay but once again some
great passing between Jack Glanville and Eoin Keogh led to our
first goal scored by Liam Feeney.
Our defence were coping well and midfield were
dominating the play and once again some fine passing led to our
second goal, very well taken by Jack Glanville.

The Second quarter started with some pressure
coming from Dunshaughlin but David Maloney and Ryan Jones in defence
dealt well with any threat. Some good link up play between John
Furlong, David Fox and Paul Sheridan created our third goal scored
by Liam Feeney, Liam was now on a hatrick, could we get our first
hatrick?
Malahide were now really dominating and Dunshaughlin could not
get out of their half. The Dunshaughlin keeper had now made a
string of fine saves but there was no let up and some more great
passing between Sean Haide-Foran, James Bullock and David Maloney
led to Liam Feeney scoring our fourth goal and his hatrick.
The Third quarter saw some more pressure from Dunshaughlin and
two fine saves from Ryan Jones who had taken over in goal. Dunshauglin
were really trying to get back into the game and a superb tackle
by Brannon Reilly prevented a really good goalscoring chance for
Dunshaughlin. David Fox and Brannon Reilly started the next move
which led to a really well taken goal by James Bullock.
Eoin Keogh had now taken over in goal and was
determined to keep a clean sheet. Two more goals were to follow
a second for James Bullock and a fourth for Liam Feeney to round
off an excellent performance by Malahide Utd.
Well Done to all of the players and thank you
to all of our supporters.

19/11 Santos15 1 - 3 Malahide Utd.
Our first game since October 15th the team were
really looking forward to this game. We had our new team kit which
was kindly sponsored by John Maloney & Associates.
We started the match a little sluggish which
was understandable since the long layoff from the last match and
went behind to an early Santos 15 goal. Some great work by Liam
Feeney in Goal kept us in the game and we then began to settle
in. Defence and Midfield worked really hard and we then began
creating chances for our forwards. We got a deserved equaliser
after some great passing and brilliant control and finishing by
Tadgh Russell. The whole team were now playing really well and
we got our second goal after some determined tackling which resulted
in a great finish by Conor O`Byrne. Santos came back hard looking
for the equaliser but Malahide defended really well and once again
some great passing led to our third great goal from Liam Feeney
who had decided to swap his goalkeeping gloves for some outfield
action.

Ready for kick off!

Ian gives halftime chat.
Well done to the whole team on a really great
performance. Thanks once again to our supporters it is much appreciated.
Special thanks to John Maloney for the kit sponsorship.
Ian Glanville & Val Jones.

24/09/05 : Malahide United v. St Francis
Moatview
A really great performance by the team today,
we took the lead through a goal from Tadgh Russell and dominated
the game for the first two quarters. We were unlucky not to be
a couple of more goals in front. The St Francis Goalkeeper was
in great form today. In the third quarter St Francis got the equaliser,
yet still we were creating most of the chances. Two late goals
by St Francis in the last quarter decided a great match, we were
unlucky to lose this match. Once again some very promising signs
of improvement from all of our players. Well done to all the players
and our supporters.
Ian Glanville & Val Jones.
