Matches w/e 5th November

Congrats to the 1st and 2nd teams for their wins in cups this weekend. The 1st team had an excellent 7-2 win over Home Farm in the 2nd round of the Intermediate cup and the 2nds defeated Glasnaoin in the 3rd round of the FAI Junior cup. Once again the seconds went through following a penalty shoot-out after the tie ended 1-1. The 3rd teams match was called off and the 4ths were unlucky to only draw 0-0 away to Cashelvilla.

Matches w/e 30thOctober

Results so far this weekend have not been the best. Yesterday the 3rd team lost their 100% league record, going down 2-0 to Liffey Wanderers. The 4ths were beaten on penalties in a cup tie versus Rafters Celtic. The 2nds league match versus Greystones was off. Finally the 1sts only managed a goalless draw at home to Bluebell in the league. Next week both the 1sts and 2nds have important ties with the 2nds playing in the 3rd round of the FAI Junior cup and the 1sts playing the the 2nd round of the FAI Intermediate cup.

Lastly best of luck to David Butler who is attempting the Dublin marathon. Hopefully he will manage a little more running than he generally does on the pitch

Matches w/e 23rd October

There were mixed results this weekend. Unfortunately the first team were beaten 3-2 on penalties in the second round of the Charlie Cahill cup away to Verona. Ironically the 2nds won 5-4 on penalties in the Lanigan cup at home to Tolka Rovers. As the Castle was called off the 3rd team played a friendly match against the 4ths on the all weather. This match ended in a 5-0 victory for the 3rds but rumour has it that the result had more to do with the ineptitude of the ref than the brillance of the 3rds. Congrats to Brendan Harte for managing to give all 29 players for the 4ths a game....

Congrats also to Brian and Michelle Gregan on the occasion of their christening on Saturday.
