U15 Molly Martin Cup Quarter Final Baldoyle 1 Malahide Utd 5

Malahide started this match playing some of the best slick passing football they played all year and it wasn't long before current Irish U16 international Daniel Corcoran went on a mazy run in to the box and pulled the ball back for Robbie McManus to open the scoring from 3 yards. Malahide continued to dominate and on 15 mins Ciaran McArdle sent in a long cross for Robbie McManus to meet on the volley and score a wonder strike from the edge
of the box in to the top corner. Baldoyle to their credit fought back and deservedly got one back with a strike from inside the box. The reponse from Malahide was immediate with Corcoran again going on a run before being crudely hacked down in the box and Corcoran put away the resulting penalty. Baldoyle tried hard to get back in to the game but Malahides defence marshalled by our other U16 Irish Internatrional Craig Berrigan held strong.

Alan McGrath at this stage started to dominate proceedings from midfield with some strong running and it wasn't long before Corcoran struck again from a seemingly impossible angle from near the corner flag.Robbie McManus then scored a deserved hat trick when his never say die attitude got him in to a position to block the goalkeeper when he tried to clear the ball and it ended up in the back of the net.

The final score of 5-1 perhaps flattered Malahide but it was a great team performance with everyone having played well .We are now looking forward to the final on the 29th May and we would hope for a big support at the match. Details of the finals time and fixture will appear nearer the date on this website.
