A great season for Malahide United U10 F! The Brenfer league title was clinched in early May and at the time of writing we play in the U 10 NDSL cup final on Sunday 22nd May. So a well-deserved double is still on the cards. Great teamwork and a 'never say die' attitude were the key factors in the team's success. On several occasions in vital matches the team came from behind to snatch heroic victories. The year's stats in all competitions says it all:

P20 W12 D4 L4 F58 A25.

A little bit more about the panel:

Stephen Dawkins grew in stature throughout the year and pulled off some vital saves particularly in our cup run. Cian O'Scolai was a rock in defence and gave very little away. Conor Grehan was a terrier in midfield and defence and scored a couple of Maradonna type goals weaving his way from his own half. Neil Taylor excelled at right midfield and scored a great cup hat-trick. Kevin Morris was our 'dead ball' expert and grew in confidence throughout the year. David McLoughlin terrorised full backs with his runs down the left. Jason 'bite yer legs' Bride would tackle his granny for the ball and never gave up. Brian Kelly came to us from Greece and scored 2 goals in 2 minutes against Northway. Gareth Hughes scored some crackers and his penalty against Rivervalley was a turning point in this key league match. Last but not least Gearoid 'Goal Machine' McLoughlin, a deadly finisher who scored a staggering 23 goals.

All in all a great omen for our foray into 11 a side football next year.
