Team Chat:

01/06/05 - End of Season 2004/5.
Looking back on our first season in the DDSL
the team has made good progress earning promotion after Christmas
to '8D' & finishing a respectable third place in that division.
Since then we've scored 26 goals & amassed 16 points with
five wins & a draw. As our defeats were all very close games
with a little bit of good fortune we might have stolen the runner-up
spot but given that this was our first season we can be satisfied
that we've acquitted ourselves quite well.
I was particularly pleased with our team spirit,
I think all players realise that playing as a team, encouraging
& helping each other, is the key to success & enjoyment!
Regular training is also essential for player & team development.
So remember: Practice, practice then more practice!
My thanks to my side-kick Mike & to all
the parents who braved the elements over the season. Also thanks
to Val for helping out when needed & refereeing most of our
matches (too fairly)!!
Finally congratulations to Eoin Kennedy, our
Player-of-The-Year. Choosing one player proved very difficult
as each & every one is deserving of praise. However it wasn't
just for Eoin's silky-skills on the pitch that he was chosen,
but also for his overall attitude & behaviour at training
& at matches. Well done to Eoin & to all our players.
I'll be in touch over the summer, enjoy your
holidays!
Bob Redmond.
